Millie Neat Tillman, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at a local hospital. She was 86 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Gates of Heaven Cemetery. The repast will be held afterwards at the Sunset Memorial Reception Center. The family will receive family and friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4-6 pm.
Mrs. Tillman was born on January 13, 1936 in Henry County to the late Olin and Malissie Brinkley. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she often cared for. Mrs. Tillman enjoyed fishing and watching Alabama football.
Mrs. Tillman was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George J.T. Tillman, Jr., her son, Johnny Roy Tillman and her sister, Edna Louise Bryant.
Survivors include her children, John Tillman, Rachel (Clarence) Cameron, Joyce (Otis) McGriff, Bobby Tillman, and Angie (the late Jeffrey) Culpepper; her daughter-in-law Mary (the late Johnny Roy) Tillman; her 16 grandchildren, Ariel Tillman, Johnathan Morris, Tamekia (James) Kendrick, Jessica (Dexter) Tillman, Johnny (Carrie) Tillman, Connie (Johnathan) Reese, Veronica (David) Zunn, Jermany (Tonya) Wells, Willie (Amy) Tillman, LeJeorge (Vanna) Tillman, Otis McGriff, Jr., Shaquille McGriff, Jocelyn McGriff, Kevin McGriff, Brianna Culpepper, and Elijah Bo Culpepper; her 20 great-grandchildren; her brother, Olin Brinkley, Jr.; her sisters, Olanell Williams, Gloria (Earnest) Faulk, Bertha Lomnick, and Frances Helms; her brother-in-law, Benny James Tillman; her sisters-in-law, Willie Ruth Reynolds and Jeweline Dunlap; and a host of extended family and friends.
