Minnie Lee Jordan, age 93, passed on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in the comfort of her home in Union Springs, Alabama. Minnie was born on August 23, 1924 in Union Springs, Alabama to Minnie Millsapp Jackson and Tillman Haskin and was the youngest of seven children. She attended primary and secondary school in Union Springs. For a time during World War II, she worked in nutrition at the Naval Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After the war, Minnie moved to Chicago, IL where she married, reared five children and worked as a punch press operator until her retirement. After retirement, she returned to Union Springs opening her home to care for disabled veterans. Minnie was a long-standing member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Union Springs, AL. She will be remembered for being a strong-willed woman, great business savvy and excellent cook. Minnie was loving and devoted to her family and friends. She was very charitable to the church and other organizations. Finally, she had an unstoppable belief in the Christian Faith. At her request, she will be cremated at Sunset Memorial Park in Dothan, AL. The family appreciates all your prayers and support during our time of bereavement. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and three children.
