Mitzi D. Exum

Mitzi D. Exum, a resident of Midland City, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Wesley Manor. She was 78.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Scotty Scott officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wesley Manor, 718 Honeysuckle Rd., Dothan, AL, 36305.Mrs. Exum was born on February 2, 1931 in Birmingham, AL and grew up in Calera, AL. She was a homemaker living in the Dothan area for the past 50 years and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mrs. Exum was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Exum.Survivors include her children, Tom Exum and wife Mary of Birmingham, Peggy Exum and partner Joyce of Brooksville, FL, David Exum of Eufaula, Joe Exum of Midland City, Mike Exum and wife Kaye of Birmingham, Ray Exum and wife Eva of Phoenix, AZ, Eric Exum and wife Abby of Dothan; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother Fred B. Simpson and his wife Peggy of Huntsville; 2 sisters, Dorcus Pilgreen of Huntsville, Shirley Johnson and her husband Buddy of Huntsville; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Wesley Manor and Wiregrass Hospice for all of their loving care and support. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
