Myrtle L. Record a resident of Ozark, AL passed away on Friday, May 22, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness. She was 65.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 until 2 pm.Mrs. Record was born on November 14, 1944 in Pike County, AL, and resided in Troy the early years of her life. Mrs. Record was a devoted homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She has resided in Ozark for the past 34 years and was an avid gardener. Mrs. Record loved her canine companion “Boss Man.”Mrs. Record was preceded in death by her sister Mary Loucks.Survivors include her three sons, William Sherffield, David Sherffield and his wife Leeza, Gerald Sherffield; three daughters, Sara Lovell, Mary Barrentine and her husband Johnny, Ramona Daniels and her husband Johnny; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her former husband Jimmy Record; her brothers and sisters, Margret Carr and her husband Thomas, Frances Burganes, Linda Griswale and her husband Thomas, Mona Bradely and her husband Joey, Mini Norris and her husband Jimmy, Darleen Kilpatrick and her husband Willie, Clyde McMillian and his girlfriend Kathy, Rodger McMillian, David McMillian and his wife Pat, Roy McMillian and his wife Myra, Nelda Carra; her brother-in-law Mike Loucks; 47 nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
