Myrtle Frances Simerlein

April 17, 1936 — March 15, 2017

Myrtle Frances Simerlein of Midland City, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle. She was 80 years old.

Funeral services will be held 10:30am Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel with Minister Kenny Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 am on the day of the service. Prior to the services the family will be at 114 Sundance Lane, Midland City, AL. Flowers are being accepted.

Mrs. Simerlein was born April 17, 1936 in Kentucky and she resided in Owensboro until moving to Dothan in 1972. She was very crafty and loved to sew and crochet. She also had a passion for dolls and had a huge collection of which she was very proud. Mrs. Simerlein was a member of Honeysuckle Church of Christ and the Red Hatters society.

Mrs. Simerlein was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Vera Rone; her husband, Bon L. Raymer; her siblings, Bill Rone, George Rone, Donald Rone, Harry Rone, Adeen Miller, and Jana Deitz; her great-grandson, Sean Frazier.

Ms. Simerlein is survived by her son, Joe (Peggy) Phillips; her daughters, Ali McGraw, Susan Grundy, and Bobbie (Kenny) Payne; her grandchildren, Marc Guffy, Melissa (Eric) Felker, Ryan Payne, Shelly (Karl) Frazier, Eric Payne, Jeremy (Julie) Phillips, Laura Caldwell, Jason (Amanda) Grundy, and Jessica (Steven) Atwell; 19 great-grandchildren; her brother, Bobby Earl (Barbara) Rone; her sister, Carol Rone; several nieces and nephews.
