Nadine Adams

Nadine Bond Adams, a resident of Dothan, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2017. She was 88.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Bynum and Tim Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5-7 pm.

Mrs. Adams was born on September 29, 1928 in Henry County, Alabama and lived the early part of her life in Newville and Columbia where she graduated from Houston County High School. Her husband was in the military and they lived in various places across the U.S. prior to returning to Dothan in 1964. She was employed with the City of Dothan for 15 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of South Lena Baptist Church and then Pathway Baptist Church.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents, Needham Anderson Bond and Choice Minnie Bond, and her husband Donell Adams, Sr.

Survivors include her son, Donell (Tanya) Adams; her daughters, Donna (David) Benton, Sandra (Barry) Buckhalt, and Sheila Petersen; her 10 grandchildren, Christopher (Elizabeth) Adams, Matthew Adams, David (Casey) Benton, JoAna (Chris) McKenzie, Harrison Benton, Carol (Mike) Andrews, Emily Buckhalt-Listoe (Ty), John Buckhalt, Sarah Buckhalt, and C.J. (Jessica) Petersen; her brother, Ovie Bond; her sister, Jo (Clayburn) Jernigan; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Christopher Adams, Matthew Adams, David Benton, II, Harrison Benton, John Buckhalt, and C.J. Petersen.
