Noel Augusta Manasco

Noel Augusta Manasco of Dothan passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at his daughter’s residence. He was 71.

Memorial services will be held 5 pm Friday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Goldsmith officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama 36301.Mr. Manasco was born January 9, 1939 in Yazoo City, Mississippi and lived the early years there. He later moved to Homestead, Florida and resided there for several years prior to moving to Dothan in 1963. Mr. Manasco was employed with the Headland Police Department and Wallace Community College until his retirement in 2001. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack Manasco and Clarice Langham, and his wife Glenda Jo Manasco.Survivors include his sons, Stephen Manasco and Chris Manasco; four daughters, Cecilia Powell, Tara Nissen, Deanna Edwards and Alexandra Edwards; three grandsons, Travis Powell, Nathan and Ethan Nissen; a sister Evelyn Boone of Ocala, FL; a brother Edward Manasco of Grand Rapids, MI; seven nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
