Oscar Francisco Trinidad

January 24, 1954 — December 25, 2024

Oscar Francisco Trinidad, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on January 24, 1954, in the Philippines, Oscar lived a life marked by kindness, intelligence, and a gentle spirit. He was 70 years old.

Oscar moved to Dothan from New Orleans with his wife, Jocelyn Sanchez-Trinidad, a dedicated travel nurse. Their partnership of 27 years was one filled with love, support, and mutual respect. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Renzo Trinidad and Czarlyn Ria Trinidad, who remember their father as a beacon of gentle strength and wisdom. Oscar was predeceased by his parents, and is survived by his sister, Chit Trinidad Mandoza, who will miss her brother's mild manner and comforting presence.

After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Geodetic Engineering from the University of the Philippines, Oscar embarked on a career as a computer programmer with a bank, demonstrating his aptitude for technology and problem-solving. His professional life also included valuable contributions to the Computer Task Group. His colleagues remember him as a brilliant mind always ready to lend a hand. Oscar retired two years ago, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and dedication in the field of computer science.

Oscar's interests were as varied as they were profound. He was a man who found joy in the simplicity of working on the computer, a hobby that both challenged and relaxed him. His laid-back nature made him a pleasure to be around, and his intelligence shone through in every task he undertook. Living in different places, from the vibrant city of New Orleans to the welcoming community of Dothan, Oscar embraced each chapter of his life with enthusiasm and an open heart.

Words like intelligent, kind, and gentle only begin to describe Oscar. He was a man who spoke softly but carried a wealth of knowledge and understanding. His impact on the lives of those around him was both subtle and significant, teaching by example the value of patience, respect, and compassion.

As we say goodbye to Oscar Francisco Trinidad, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey that left a trail of love, learning, and gentle guidance. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with this remarkable man. Oscar's legacy is one of love, and it will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his loved ones for generations to come.
