Patricia Key

Patricia Key, a resident of Dothan passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at her residence after an extended illness. She was 55.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Onley, Rev. Gene Gainous and Rev. John Boss officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Debt Reduction Fund, 416 Bethlehem Rd., Midland City, AL, 36350.Mrs. Key was born on January 28, 1954 in Stanley County, NC and moved to Dothan at an early age and has resided here most of her life. She was employed with the Alabama Board of Education for over 10 years in the administrative department. Mrs. Key was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her father, Spurgeon McLester, Jr., her brother, Scott McLester, father-in-law James P. Key, grandparents, L.F. Andrews, Willie Pearl Andrews, Spurgeon McLester, Sr. and Odie McLester.Survivors include her husband Dan Key of Dothan; a son James Key of Dothan; a daughter Brandi Hardy and her husband Brad of Headland; 3 grandchildren, J.P. Hardy, Abby Hardy, Anna Hardy; her mother Annette Andrews McLester of Dothan; 2 brothers, Tony Ray McLester and his wife Teresa of Headland, Terry Wayne McLester of Dothan; a special Aunt Brenda Summers; her mother-in-law Peggy Key of Dothan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Brenda Key of Hartford, Paula and Mike Bostic of Dothan, Sheila and Russell Burge of Malvern, Sharon Hutton of Dothan, Sonya and Ricky Killingsworth of Dothan, Karen Wessner of Dothan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Serving as active pallbearers will be Max Andrews, Riley Joe Andrews, Rex Summers, Dennis Key, Ricky Killingsworth, and Mike Bostic.
