Pauline Elizabeth Wambles

August 12, 1929 — January 5, 2016

Pauline Elizabeth Wambles, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.  She was 86.

Funeral services held at 2 pm on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Highland Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Clint McBroom officiating.  Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1-2 pm.  Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1619 S. Park Avenue, Dothan, AL  36301.

Mrs. Wambles was born on August 12, 1929 in Exeter Devon, England and lived there the early years of her life.  She came to the United States when she was 17 years old and married the love of her life, Deal Wambles, whom she met during World War II.  They resided in Dearborn, Michigan for several years and Cocoa, Florida before moving to Dothan in 1966.  Mrs. Wambles was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.  She played an important role as the wife of Chief Deal Wambles and assisted in the administrative duties of Cherokee’s of Southeast Alabama.

Mrs. Wambles was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elsie Cull Pyle and Charles E. Pyle, her granddaughter, Dana E. Thompson, her husband, Deal Wambles, and by her son, Wayne C. Wambles.

Survivors include her sister, Wyn Sheffield; her daughters, Jenny L. Weinrich, Pat A. Bob Brown, and Debbie K. Tim Thompson; her son, William S. Lisa Wambles; her grandchildren, Chris Teresa Weinrich, Samantha Clint Pickett, Jamie Thompson, Jessica Casey Kamke, Bobby Lisa Brown, Tom Brown, Ben Lewis, and Edward Lewis; her 11 great-grandchildren; her 2 soon to be great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Burial Date: January 1, 1970
