Pearlie Yeager (Sutton) Stone

March 21, 1936 — October 13, 2023

Pearlie Yeager Stone, a loving and gentle soul, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on March 21, 1936, in Atkinson County, Georgia, Pearlie was a woman of faith who lived her life with grace and kindness.

She became a homemaker, pouring her love and energy into creating a warm and welcoming home for her loved ones where you could always find a jar of oatmeal cream pies. Pearlie was a woman of many talents and interests. She had a deep love for birds and found joy in the simple beauty of yellow roses and potted plants. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden, a place where she found peace.

She was also an avid shopper, always on the lookout for the perfect piece of jewelry to add to her collection. Pearlie's love for dance was infectious, and it was at the Doug Tew Rec Center where she met her husband of ten years, James "Jim" Stone.

Pearlie is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughter, Debbie Ballard; and her son, Richard Allen Yeager (Deana). She was a beloved grandmother to Sheldon Holder (Holli), Penny (Karl) Metz, Mindy Johnston (Shawn), and Jason Yeager (Christina). She was also a cherished great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren. Pearlie is also survived by her sisters, Faye Hicks and Opal Peterson, by one brother, Archie Sutton, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Day Yeager, her parents, Johnnie and Arminda Sutton, her son, Marcus Day Yeager, and son in law, Clete Jennings Ballard. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Lilly 'Lee' Crumley, Louise 'Lou' Sutton Dennis, 'Bud' Sutton, Mary Ann Sutton, Evelyn Kozack, Johnnie Sutton Jr., and Roy Sutton. Pearlie's loss is deeply felt by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Pearlie's life was a testament to her faith-filled nature. She was a happy and fun-loving person all the way up to the end, touching the lives of everyone she met. Pearlie Yeager Stone will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those who knew her.
