Peggy Mixon Johnson, a resident of Dothan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at her residence. She was 87 years old.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Allen Monarch officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-2 pm.
Mrs. Johnson was born on December 17, 1934 in Butler County, Alabama and lived the early years of her life in Georgiana, Alabama. She moved to Dothan in 1976 and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who adored taking care of her family. Mrs. Johnson was an avid gardener who had a green thumb and had an eye for color coordinating her gardens. She was a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Johnson was a member of 1st Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Charles Johnson; her son, Chris (Michelle) Johnson; her daughter, Lea Ann (Randy) Rogers; her grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, Clint Rogers, and Ryan Wallace; her sister, Billie Dove McGraw; her niece, Michelle Hayles; two great nieces and 1 great nephew also survive.
