Perry McPherson, a cherished husband, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, in Enterprise, Alabama. Born on January 21, 1953, in Dothan, Alabama, Perry grew to be a man of kindness and selfless dedication, qualities that defined his life and touched all who knew him.

Perry was a proud graduate of Dothan High School, where he laid the foundations for a life of service and commitment. Following his graduation, he honorably served in the United States Army for two years, a period that instilled in him a deep sense of discipline and patriotism. After his military service, Perry continued to contribute to his community through his work at Ft. Rucker and later as a dedicated contract worker. Despite facing the challenges of disability later in life, he remained a strong presence, always offering a helping hand and a heart full of compassion.

Perry's life was rich with the love of his family. He shared eight joyous years of marriage with his beloved wife, Loretta McPherson, and together they nurtured a bond of unwavering support and affection. He leaves behind a loving son, Perry McPherson, Jr. His sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Barksdale (William) of Maryland, Mrs. Judy Whitehurst (Kopy) of Virginia, and Ms. Mary Frances McPherson of Virginia, along with his brother, Mr. Phillips McPherson (Catherine) of Georgia, will remember Perry as a beacon of strength and loyalty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. James McPherson and Mrs. Willie Pearl McPherson, and his siblings Mr. Willie James McPherson, Hattie Marshall Davis, Catherine Mitchell, Joe McPherson, and Bobby McPherson.

A devout attendee of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama, Perry's faith was a cornerstone of his life. His spirituality was quietly profound and provided him with solace and guidance throughout his years.

Among his simple pleasures was the love of nature. Perry often found tranquility in riding around and gazing at the water, a pastime that brought him great peace and reflection. His home was filled with the laughter of his son and five grandchildren, who he adored with every fiber of his being. Even in his leisure time, he found contentment in watching television, a simple joy that he cherished greatly.

Perry's legacy is one of unwavering love and selflessness. His kind-hearted nature and readiness to put others before himself left an indelible mark on his family and friends. He navigated the challenges of life with grace and fortitude, never losing sight of the importance of caring for those around him.

As we bid farewell to Perry McPherson, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by genuine kindness and heartfelt generosity. He will be deeply missed, but the memories of his warm smile and gentle spirit will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
