Philip Ray Snead, a resident of Hartford passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva. He was 64.
rnMemorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with the Minister Cecil Wroten officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends following the service in the Sunset Reception Center.rnMr. Snead was born on April 15, 1944 in Tampa, FL and lived the early years of his life in Barber County. He owned and operated Snead’s Fabrics which was based out of Baker Hill, AL for several years prior to his retirement in 2001. He has resided in Hartford for the past year. Mr. Snead was a Mason of the Morman faith.rnSurvivors include his sons, Harold Snead and his wife, Jennifer of Hartford, AL, Greg Snead of Houston, TX; a daughter Sherri Lynn Sawyer of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Cagney Sawyer, Ashley Jordan Lynn, Kayla Snead, John Snead, Kristen Shelley, Kialee Shelley, Kadence Snead, Logan Plowden; his mother Alta Snead of Florence, SC; a sister Ann Harris and her husband, Jack of Florence, SC; an aunt Jessie Johns of Eufaula, AL. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
