Phyllis Ann Proctor Hall

January 26, 1950 — March 25, 2017

Phyllis Ann Proctor Hall, a resident of Leeds, AL, and former longtime resident of Dothan, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Birmingham. She was 67.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Johnny Fain officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111 and/or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.

Mrs. Hall was born on January 26, 1950 in Bonifay, Florida and lived the early years of her life there. She graduated from George C. Wallace Community College with a Degree in Nursing and worked for 20+ years as a Registered Nurse at Flowers Hospital and Option Care Home Health Services caring for cancer patients. She retired to Leeds, AL to be close to family.

Mrs. Hall’s greatest joys were caring for her children, grandchildren, and many others. She had a passion for music, played the piano from a young age, she was involved with gospel music and traveled (prior to marriage with a gospel singing group). Mrs. Hall gave selflessly to her patients throughout her professional career as well as her personal life.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde O. Hall, her son, Jeffrey Hall, her parents, Matthew and Lucille Proctor of Bonifay, FL, and by her son-in-law, Russell Griffin.

Survivors include her children, Sheila Griffin, Pell City, AL, Cynthia (Mark) Morrison, Asheville, NC, Shannon (Jeff) Duke, Atlanta, GA; her daughter-in-law, Veronica Hall, Santa Anna, CA; her grandchildren, Matt, Adam, Josh, Zachary, Chloe, Tyler, and Ryan; 2 great-granddaughters, Gabi and Lillian; several nieces and nephews.
