Queen Ester Holmes

Queen Ester Richardson Holmes went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 20, 2019. She was 65. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 25, 2019 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Bowens officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 4-6 pm. Queen Esther Richardson Holmes was born on February 4, 1954 to the late Mary Richardson and T. B. Jr. Wilbert in Dothan, Alabama. She owned and operated her own assisted living facility from 2000-2012, she was a loving caregiver for over 30 years. Queen was a member of the Alzheimer's Association. Queen was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her kids and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew her. Queen was preceded in death by her husband, William Holmes, her mother, Mary Richardson, her father T. B. Jr. Wilbert, one great-granddaughter, Ja'Miyah Townes, her sisters, Mary Lois Bivins and Sherryann Burks, and her brothers, Willie James Richardson and Billy Ray Richardson. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her 4 children, Beverly Harris, Debra Harris-Hill, Sabrena Harris, and Jason Harris; her grandchildren, Priscilla Harris, Selena Harris, Brittany Harris, Maranda Harris (James) Allen, Natasha Harris, Cortez Hill, Cornelius Harris, and Issac Harris; her 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Pearlie Mae Andrews; her brother, Clearance Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Burial Date October 25, 2019 Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 25, 2019 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Bowens officiating.
