Ray Smith

Ray Charles Smith, 50, of Dothan passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 3 pm Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon K. Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.

The late Mr. Ray Charles Smith was born in Pike County on April 24, 1962 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grace Smith. He attended Pike County Public School. Then, he later relocated to Dothan, AL where he lived with his grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Hill Smith of Ashford, AL. Later, he dated and married Ms. Jennifer Smith and worked for several different companies in the Dothan area. He departed this life on May 26, 2012 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter, Alexis Joanna Smith of Dothan, AL and her devoted mother, Jennifer Smith of Dothan; three sisters, Patricia Williams Brad of Dothan, Diann Cazeau William of Atlanta, GA, Carol Rodgers Tony of Atlanta, GA; five nephews, Cornelius of Dothan, AL, Cedric of Dothan, AL, Curtis of Ashford, AL, Cecil of Savannah, GA, Cortez Rodgers of Atlanta, GA; five nieces, Candace Rodgers of Atlanta, GA, Summer Rodgers of Atlanta, GA, Danielle Rodgers of Atlanta, GA, Christa of Dothan, AL, Bridget of Dothan, AL; seven great-nephews and three great-nieces; four uncles, Willie Smith Mandy of Ashford, AL, Willie Snell Zeolar of Ashford, AL, Johnny Smith Dorothy of Ashford, AL, Grover Wheeler of Brundidge; best friend, Kyle Cook, and a host of family and friends.
