Raymond E. Phillips, a resident of Ozark passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 at his residence. He was 65.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ozark with Father Paul Egbe Father Brendan Keller and Deacon John Ross officiating and Robert Byrd directing. There will be a Rosary service held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 101079 81st Street, Tulsa, OK, 74133.Ray was born in Baltimore, MD on December 28, 1943 to the late Charles and Rose Phillips. He graduated from Severna Park High School. He was a registered X-Ray technician at Anne Arundel General Hospital and retired from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department after 20 years of service. He moved to Ozark in 1993 and became the first Fire Marshall for the city. He was the Director of Emergency Management until his retirement in 2006. Ray was a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club in Ozark.He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles J. Phillips Jr., and a sister Rosalie Bollier.Survivors include his wife of 45 years Genny Phillips; a daughter Jennifer L. Ingram and her husband Billy; a granddaughter Samantha Rose Phillips; a brother Theodore L. Phillips and his wife Linda; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970Visits: 0
