Rebecca Joan DePerro, a resident of Albany, GA, formerly of Dothan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, February 7, 2022 at her residence. She was 83 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1-2 pm.
Rebecca was born on October 14, 1938 in Moultrie, Georgia and lived there the early years of her life. Her love of traveling led her and her husband on many unplanned trips to the beach just for dinner, or fishing at Lake Blackshear in Georgia, or camping. She was an avid Alabama Fan and loved playing cards.
Rebecca was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Joseph Francis DePerro, Jr., by her parents, Curtis and Ila Mae Folsom Yates, Sr. and by her brother, Curtis Yates.
Survivors include her sons, Joseph "Joe" (Cynthia) DePerro and Steven DePerro; her daughter, Deborah (Billy) Dorsett; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother, Roger Yates; her sister, Gail Nolan; and several nieces and nephews.
