Rev. Morris D. Hyatt

Rev. Morris D. Hyatt, of Hartford, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 23, 2018. He was 88. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 26, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Myrice McNab officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Rev. Hyatt was born on February 24, 1930 and lived the early years of his life in Cost, Texas. He graduated from Gonzales High School and joined the US Air Force and served for 4 years. Following his military service, he graduated from Southeastern Bible College and became an ordained minister. Rev. Hyatt served faithfully throughout Alabama and Florida for over 50 years. He resided in Megargel, Alabama prior to moving to Hartford, Alabama. Rev. Hyatt was an avid reader and loved to work cross word puzzles. Rev. Hyatt was preceded in death by his 2 wives, Edith Emagene Hyatt and Ann LaJoyce Hyatt, and by his parents, Loney West and Willie Hyatt. Survivors include his son, Danny (Mary) Hyatt; his daughters, Marcia (Tim) Wilson and Janet (Doug) Sharron; his step-daughters, Claudia (Randall) Walker, Beverly Scribner, Debbie (Greg) Cordero, and Kim (Paul) Bush; his 9 grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Tyers, Jessica (Ronnie) Jackson, Justin Sharron, Preston (Christin) Wilson, Beth Hyatt, David (Chasida) Sharron, Anna Cowart, Nicholas Sharron, and Ashton Cowart-Hyatt; and his 3 great-grandchildren, Kaela Tyers, Vincent Haddaway, and Gabe Jackson. Burial Date August 26, 2018 Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 26, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Myrice McNab officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018.
