Richard Olen Johnson was welcomed home into the Arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 5th, 2018. He was born January 6th, 1962 in Orlando, Florida. A Celebration of Richard's homecoming will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11th, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Richard is survived by the love of his life Deborah Lynn Johnson of Taylor, Alabama; his parents, Terry & Helen Hayes of Taylor, Alabama & Ken Johnson of Henderson, Texas; his daughters, Janell Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Shannon Beard and Jessica Kitchens; his sons, Bryan Owens and Hunter Noles; his 10 grandkids; his sister, Lucinda (Lynn) Cosby; his brother, Charles (Colleen) Hayes; his sister, Kathy Thompson; his nephew, Kenneth (Rhya) Carpenter; his nieces, Tura (Chris) Moore and Makayla Bowen; also survived by 3 great nieces & 3 great nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends that he dearly loved. Richard grew up in Sanford, Florida. He attended Seminole High School and graduated with the class of 1980. Richard later moved to Fairbanks Alaska to work at the family drywall business. Years later, he entered the field of carpentry, ultimately becoming a master wood worker. In recent years, Richard decided to work as a Service Manager at Seminole Communications for years. His final job took place in Baton Rouge, LA as a Health and Safety Inspector. This quickly became his passion. Most of all, Richard was very passionate about his family and friends and cherished every moment he had with them. Please join us this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. as we Celebrate Richard's Life here on this Earth and his Homecoming to The Kingdom of Heaven!
