Richard Kumpfbeck, 90, of Dothan passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Wesley Manor.

rnPrivate memorial services will be held 11:30 am Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating and Robert Byrd directing. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Columba Catholic Church Building Fund, 2700 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36303. rnMr. Kumpfbeck was born June 17, 1921 in Munich, Germany and moved to New York City at the age of 3. He joined the U.S. Army and served during WWII in the pacific theater. He owned a tool and die factory in New York for several years until his retirement. Mr. Kumpfbeck has resided in Dothan since 2007 and is of the Catholic faith. rnSurvivors include his wife Wally Kumpfbeck of Dothan; a son Richard Deidre Kumpfbeck of Huntington, NY; a daughter Nancy Richmond McClintock of Dothan; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
