Rickey Earl Powers

Rickey Earl Powers, a resident of Cottonwood passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 51.

Memorial services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Gagnon officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.Mr. Powers was born on March 26, 1959 in Ft. Walton Beach, FL and moved to Dothan at an early age. He graduated from Dothan High School and was employed with AAA Cooper Transportation for over 23 years as a diesel mechanic. He owned and operated RP Truck and Trailer for the past 2 years.Survivors include his sons, Jonathan Powers and his wife Amanda of Cottonwood, and Brian Powers and his wife Rebecca of Kinsey; 3 grandchildren, James Powers, Logan Powers, and Jayden Powers; brothers, Donald Powers of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Lynn Collins of Birmingham; sisters, Carolyn Andrews and her husband Carey of Dothan, and Lisa Steverson and her husband Ronnie; step-sisters, Myra Jackson and her husband Mike of Abbeville; a step-daughter, Caroline Marler of Elba. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
