Robbie Nell Martin Deese, a resident of Headland passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at her residence. She was 81.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. T.P. Martin, Rev. Jimmy Cook, and Rev. Chuck Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in Midland City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.Mrs. Deese was born on November 3, 1929 in Dale County and spent the early part of her life in the Daleville area. She lived in Lakeland, FL, Elberton, GA and Henagar, AL prior to living in Dothan where she was a dietary supervisor for Flowers Hospital. In 2006 she moved to her current address in Headland, AL. Mrs. Deese was a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle Community Church in Dothan.She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Lee Martin and Maudie Bell Marchman Martin; two daughters, Barbara Rousey and Annette Fulford; a son Johnny Mac Deese; three sisters, Dorothy Strength, Eunice Anderson, and Mazie Purswell; a brother Ray Martin.Survivors include her husband William Earl Deese of Headland; her daughters, Virginia Roe of Easley, SC, Jean Stanton and her husband Nathan of Midland City, Tammy Reid and her husband Dan of Deep Creek, GA, and Wendy Dutton and her husband Billy Ray of Elberton, GA; her sons, Bobby Deese and his wife Hilda of Headland, Billy Deese and Teresa of Clayton, GA, and Scotty Fulford and his wife Jan of Four Oaks, NC; her sister Kathleen Blackmon of Wewahitchka, FL; her brothers, Rev. Tommy Martin and his wife Louise of Dothan, Edsel Martin and his wife Nita of Panama City, FL, and Buddy Martin of Dothan; a sister-in-law Sallie Mae Martin of Napier Field, AL; 24 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.
