Bob was a Captain in the US Army, in the late 60's and early 70's, where he learned to fly Helicopters and served in Vietnam. He was a pilot for over 50 years, and a flight instructor at Ft Rucker for most of those, flying was his passion. Bob was fortunate enough to enjoy what he loved until his end. He was a pillar in the local flying community and will be missed by his co-worker, Sheila Hawkins Williams, fellow pilots, associates, and numerous students.
He is survived by his brother Kelly Daugherty and wife Mary Ellen; daughter Carol Keenan and husband Jim; daughter Kristin Baggett and husband Stephen; son Michael and daughter-in-law Jennifer, grandchildren: Jordan, Chelsea, James, Catherine, Joshua, Jillian, and Preston, great grandchildren: Isaiah, Jaydyn, Kaylee, Leigha, Alauna.
