Robert Orville Joslin

Robert Orville Joslin, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was 82.

A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Park.

Robert "Bob" Orville Joslin was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 14, 1938. He spent the early years of his life in Comstock, Michigan. He eventually made Dothan, Alabama his home with his wife Ethel "Adel" and two daughters, Mechelle and Bobbi Jae. Mr. Joslin taught photography at Troy University for 26 years. It was his passion to teach his students the art of photography. He traveled with his students to Africa and Peru on photographic adventures. Mr. Joslin produced the educational programs Teddy Bear Takes a Nature Walk and The Nature's Way series. He authored a book, Colors Patterns and Textures in Nature featuring his photographs to bring awareness of the beauty of nature. He retired from Troy University June 1, 2013. Mr. Joslin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was also an active member of SEAPAC camera club. He will be deeply missed and, in our hearts, forever.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Joslin; daughters, Mechelle (Seiden) Armour; Bobbie Jae (James) Culver; grandchildren, Christopher Armour; Jonathan Armour; and Megan Kucks; great grandson, Connor Armour. Bob is also survived by two nephews Kim Stuut and Michael Stuut.
