Robert Edward Lee

July 1, 1935 — May 24, 2017

Robert Edward Lee, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in a local hospital. He was 81.

Memorial services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Susan Lee officiating. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Rd., Montgomery, AL 36111.

Mr. Lee was born on July 1, 1935 in Meridian, Mississippi and lived there the early years of his life. He joined the US Coast Guard and served for 25 years before retiring in 1978. Mr. Lee moved to Tallahassee, FL and was employed with Lewis Lively Vocational Tech School where he was a welding instructor. He moved to Dothan in 1979 and was employed with Truck Equipment Supply, Hayes International, and was later employed with Dyncorp and Sikorsky at Ft. Rucker. Mr. Lee was an A & P Instructor at Alabama Aviation in Ozark until he retired in 2003.

Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Lee, his son, Phillip Lee, and by his brother, Douglas Lee.

Survivors include his sons, Troy Allen Lee, Austin Scott Lee, and Randall Eric Lee, all of Dothan; his grandchildren, Kristen Nicole Lee, Thomas Aaron Lee, Megan Brianna Lee, Katherine Lee, and Alexander Lee; his sister, Dale Pipkin, Mobile.
