Robert Thaxton Smith Jr.

Robert Thaxton “Bobby” Smith, Jr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was 53.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Covenant United Methodist Church with Dr. Hays McKay and Rev. Kyle Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 6-8 pm.Mr. Smith was born on August 23, 1956 in Dothan and lived here his entire life. He graduated from Rehobeth High School. Mr. Smith had been in the flooring business for over 40 years and was the owner of Smith Hardwood Flooring since the mid 80’s. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. Mr. Smith was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.Survivors include his fiancé, Pamela Paramore, Dothan; his son and daughter-in-law, Pete and Chelley Smith, Dothan; his 2 daughters, Kathy Boehm and her husband, Andrew, Chattanooga, TN and Anna Willis and her husband Will, Dothan; his 2 step-daughters, Kendal Unger and Audra Unger, both of Dothan; his 5 grandchildren, Kaid, Gracie, Aubrey, Aislin, and Reese; his parents, Thaxton and Maxine Smith, Dothan; his 2 brothers, Steven Smith and his wife Janie, Dothan and Ricky Smith and his wife Frances, Dothan; his sister Becky Smith, Dothan; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
