Rolando's early years in Italy laid the foundation for his strong character. Serving with pride in the Alpine Army, he met his beloved wife, Giuseppina, in Rome, a love story that would span five decades until her passing. He was an avid dancer, often sweeping Giuseppina off her feet as they moved in unison to their favorite melodies. His love for Italian culture was evident in his passion for baking Italian cookies and his talent for cooking, which brought his family and friends together around the table for memorable meals. Rolando also found solace and joy in tending to his garden, cultivating both fruits and vegetables with the same care and attention he gave to everything he loved.

His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. Rolando's selfless nature was the cornerstone of his character, guiding his actions and interactions throughout his life.
