Ronnie Barbaree

Ronald Allan “Ronnie” Barbaree, age 51, passed away at his home Sunday May 29, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by numerous members of his devoted family.

Memorial services will be held 11 am Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Alexander officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends in the reception center following the services.

Ronnie was born on July 10, 1959 in Dothan, AL. He lived in Jacksonville, FL until 1987 when he moved to Dothan to care for his grandmother, after the passing of his grandfather. He has been the owner of Wet Pets on Montgomery Highway for the past 27 years. Ronnie was a friend to whomever he met and fiercely loyal to those he loved. rnHe is survived by his parents, Donel and Jo Barbaree, his siblings: Don and Fran Barbaree, Diane and Alan Drew, and Cecil and Robin Barbaree, his aunt and uncle David and Charolette Alexander, his cousins Cindy Fair, and Mike Alexander, four nieces, three nephews, two great nieces and three great nephews. He is also survived by his faithful and much loved Welsh Corgi, “Miss B”. rnRonnie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Florine Kelley. rnWet Pets will continue to be run by new owner, Allan Kimble, who is a loyal longtime friend and business partner.
