Rose Riley Thomas, 83, a resident of Dothan passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at her residence.

rnFuneral services held at 2pm on Friday, April 20, 2012 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1-2pm on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, or to In Christ’s Name, 1380 West Main St., Dothan, AL 36301 or to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Rd., Dothan, AL 36303. rnMrs. Thomas was born September 12, 1928 in Henry County and lived the early years of her life there. She later moved to Dothan and was employed with Rainer Studios for over 27 years prior to her retirement in 1986. Mrs. Thomas was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was active in the adult Sunday School Class and Bible Study. rnMrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband Ladon Thomas, her parents, Mansel and Hettie Riley, her sister Sara Talton, and her brother Charles Riley. rnSurvivors include her son, Mike Barbara Thomas, Dothan, AL; a special grandchild, Courtney Thomas; her brother, Ronnie Jackie Riley, Newville, AL; and her sister, Peggy Bob Kennedy, Bradenton, FL. rnServing as active pallbearers will be Jim Price, Lance Riley, Robert Kennedy, and Cliff Kennedy. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
