Ruby Diane Brooks

Ruby Diane Brooks, a resident of Ozark, Alabama passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Flowers Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 74.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Diane was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 19, 1943 and lived her younger years in Spirit Lake, Idaho until she moved to Tacoma, Washington where she met her husband, Michael. She traveled with her husband and three daughters during Michael’s years of Army service. Diane enjoyed fishing, loved gardening and especially loved spending time with her grandkids. She was the social spit-fire and the life of a party.

She was preceded in death by her husband, MSG Michael Brooks; her parents, Earl Jobes and Florence Biarium; her brother, Edward Jobes; her sister-in-law, Sandy Houser; and her brothers-in-law, Leroy Katko and Jerry Carlson.

Survivors include her daughters, Robin Brooks (Patrick Ritchie), Bradford, MA, Lisa Brooks, Ozark, AL and Becky Brooks Merriweather, MI; her grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Adams, Justin (Theresa) Adams, Dakota Brooks, Shane (Aleah) Armstrong, Johanna (Chris) Armstrong Fleay, Amanda Adams (Derek) and Adam Giebner; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Sophia, Madison and Riley; her brothers, John (Sharon) Houser and Charles Houser; her sisters, Liz Arends, Mary Katko and Betty Carlson; and several nieces and nephews.
