Russell Randall King, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018. He was 77.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 2 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Deborah Gilbert and Rev. Peacock officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm on Thursday.

Mr. King was born on January 8, 1941 in Ashford, Alabama and lived the early years of his life in Dothan. He was a 1959 graduate of Dothan High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served over 21 years until his retirement. After retirement, he returned to Dothan and began his second career with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office from which he retired after 12 years. Mr. King enjoyed eating and watching old western movies.

Survivors include his son, Robert King; his daughter, Elizabeth Belle Mayo; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
