Ruth Priebe

Ruth Priebe, 80, of Midland City, passed away Tuesday May 14, 2013 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hays McKay and Rev. Kyle Gatlin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1pm until 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church “Faith Promise” 3610 W Main St Dothan, AL 36305.

Mrs. Priebe was born October 19, 1932 in Wickburg and she lived the early years of her life there.  She married her late husband Lt. Col. Richard Priebe in 1952 who was in the military and they were stationed in numerous places throughout his career.  Mrs. Priebe moved to Midland City in 1986 and was employed with Burger King for several years.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her grandchildren, the beach and the outdoors. Mrs. Priebe was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Priebe was preceded in death by her husand, Lt. Col. Richard Priebe and a grandson, Nicholas Priebe.

Survivors include her son, Richard Tracey Priebe; her three daughters Terry Doug White, Sherry David Barfield and Allison Rick McNeeley; a long time friend and special angel  Karen Gaines; her grandchildren, Rhiannon Tony Ellis, Lela Crowe, Chelsea Casey Sirmans, Lauren Barfield, Michael Suzanne Barfield and Crystal Barfield; great-grandchildren, Colleen and Aidyn Ellis, Addison and Emily Barfield and Payton Bean; her sisters, Ann Blankenship, Ruby Smith, Ellen Gunter and Nell Bodiford; several nieces and nephews.
