Sallie Fannie Lampkin

August 3, 1925 — October 19, 2010

Sallie Fannie Holloway Lampkin of Dothan passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd S. Dillard officiating. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home from 6–7 pm on Friday, October 22, 2010.Mrs. Lampkin was born on August 3, 1925 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Emmanuel and Fannie Holloway. Sallie accepted Christ at an early age where she joined Balkum Chapel and later joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and was an auxiliary member of the Usher Board, Nurses Guild and Senior Choir. Also she was a member of the Eastern Star Melodious Chapter #107. She was united in matrimony on September 8, 1940 to Moody Lampkin and to this union they had eight 8 children. She loved to cook and bake. Every Christmas she blessed many cake lovers with her special chocolate or red velvet cakes. Survivors include her husband Moody Lampkin of Dothan; sons, Arthur Moody Lampkin Joyce of Dothan, Charles Lampkin Eileen of Jersey City, NJ, Willie Frank Lampkin Essie of Dothan, Benjamin Lampkin of Panama City, FL, and Robert Lancaster Lampkin of Dothan; daughters, Laura Hodge Scott Eugene of Dothan, Jackie Peoples Willie of Augusta, GA, and Sandra Diann Lampkin of Dothan; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law Willie Lampkin Juanita of Dothan; sisters-in-law, Tinnie Owens of Dothan, Willie Blanch Cook of Hollywood, FL, Willie Rose Lampkin of Dothan, Evelyn G. Williams of Dothan, and Christine Kirkland Tennyson of Dothan; a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
