Sally Ann Brown

November 4, 1935 — April 7, 2015

Sally Ann Brown, a resident of Dothan passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Flowers Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 9-10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown was born in Belleville, IL and resided in Norfolk, VA and later Blacksburg, VA and Merritt Island, FL prior to moving to Dothan in 1973. She was a homemaker and civic activist. During Operation Desert Storm she spear-headed a Hatteras Light House Relocation and Preservation Campaign and a Yellow Ribbon Campaign. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years John F. Brown.

Survivors include her son John Christopher Mechelle Brown; her daughters, Stephanie Brad Coy and Stacey Donald Bishop; her grandchildren, Rebekah Brown, Katherine Brown, Chelsea Rae Cormier, Brandy Nicole Trimm, Brittany Bishop Ridgway, Sarah Bishop, and Emily Bishop; her Dothan family, Bob and Kristina Suominen, Harvest Hunter, and Todd and Tammy Whaley; seven great-grandchildren.
