Sammie Glover

June 7, 1951 — April 15, 2015

Sammie Glover, Jr., 63, a resident of Slocomb passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Glover was born June 7, 1951 in Geneva, AL and resided the early part of his life in the Bronx, NY. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Air Force and served over 30 years prior to his retirement in 1999. Sammie lived in San Antonio, TX prior to moving back to Geneva County in 1998. He was employed at Wiregrass Commons Mall and Regions Bank as a security guard. He loved to fish and enjoyed raising chickens and quail. Sammie was a member of Harvest Church in Dothan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sammie and Lottie Glover; 3 siblings; and a grandson Damion Constable.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Glover; children, Joseph Gail Quattlebaum, Sam Glover, James Snider, Scotty Snider, Kelly Glover, and Twila Paul Ward; 14 grandchildren; a brother Mike Glover; a sister Carol Mike Mathis; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
