Sammy Louis Salter, Jr.

Sammy Louis Salter, Jr., a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Flowers Hospital. He was 53.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Dawsey officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 am on the day of the service.

Mr. Salter was born on December 1, 1963 in Newville, Alabama to Sammy Louis Salter, Sr. and Agnes Christine Salter. He served his country in the United States Army Reserve for 17 years until his illness. While in the Reserves, he served in Desert Storm.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sammy Louis Salter, Sr. and a brother, Adam Dewayne Salter.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Jacqueline Gordon Salter; daughter, Camilla (James) Salter; mother, Agnes Christine Salter; sister, Jacqueline Salter; brother, Rickey (Betty) Salter; three grandchildren, Darius Keshun Salter, Deryus Kevon Salter and Kailynn Brady; several nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; family and friends; and a host of special military brothers.
