Sandra Kay Johnson

Ms. Sandra Kay Johnson, a resident of Dothan, passed away in her home on Thursday, September 22, 2016.  She was 69.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Dothan Community Church, 4390 Westgate Parkway, Dothan, and Al. 36303. Pastor Charles Lewis will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 9:45 at the church.

Sandra Kay Johnson was born on February 3, 1947 in Franklin, Virginia to the late Randolph and Alma Cleo Vincent. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Beverly Vincent, her brother, Dwayne Alan Vincent and her niece, Constance Vincent.

Sandra moved to Dothan in the early 90’s to care for her aging mother. She joined Dothan Community Church, where she faithfully served until her transition. Sandra loved her church and she loved the Lord.

Sandra demonstrated her love for her church family by faithfully praying for them and sending daily loving text messages EARLY in the morning to remind each of them of God’s love for them as well as her own. She loved DCC Family Time every 4th Sunday and would organize the meals by calling and texting everyone to ensure we had a full meal. She loved reading, gospel music especially The Mighty Clouds of Joy, and her various pets.

She leaves cherish her memory, two loving and devoted daughters, Nakia Lynnette Roycel Johnson Dothan, AL and Rose Marie Boone Fred Suffolk, VA; one sister, Cheryl Lavern Vincent Franklin, VA; one nephew, Turner Dwayne Vincent Columbus, GA; two nieces, Alannah D’Sherion Vincent Auburn, AL and Nyah Denise Vincent Dothan, AL; two great nieces Alantra Denise VincentFranklin, VA., Y’anna T. Vincent Franklin, VA., seven grandchildren, Altovise Johnson Concord, NC, Lafoya Fulgham Chesapeake, VA, Tiffany Johnson Suffolk, VA, Vonetta Fulgham Suffolk, VA, Lavar Johnson Suffolk, VA, Quantasia Johnson and NaRyan Dwayne Alan Johnson Dothan, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends, including her Dothan Community Church Family.
