Sarah Noel Locke

Sarah Noel Locke of Dothan passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 78.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Westwood Presbyterian with Pastor David Temples officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home from 5 -7 pm on Friday, July 24, 2009.Mrs. Locke was born on December 20, 1930 in Birmingham, AL and lived the early part of her life there and spending her summers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She attended college at Livingston, University of Alabama and H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College Institute, Tulane University. She was employed as a teacher Science and English at Rehobeth High School, Girard Jr. High, Montana, Carver and Hallie Turner. She retired in 1997 after over 50 years of teaching. She was a member of Westwood Presbyterian Church.She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert Hudson Robinson and Dorothy Louise Weston; and a granddaughter, Maddie Locke.Survivors include her husband of 56 years Lonnie Locke of Dothan; a son, Maj. Lem Locke and his wife Donna of Virginia; her daughters, Lou Scarborough and her husband Mike of Lumberton, TX and Amelia Ritch and her husband Charles of East Prairie, MO; 7 grandchildren. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
