Scott Dale Downing, 48, of Dothan passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011.

rnServices will be held 3 pm Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home with Dr. Hays McKay officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester, GA at 1 pm EST on Monday, April 11, 2011. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36301. rnScott was born January 16, 1963 in Albany, GA and lived the early part of his life in Sylvester, GA. He attended Worth Academy and Georgia Southwestern in Americus, GA where he received his Bachelors in Business Administration. He has lived in Dothan for the past 12 years and was employed as a realtor with Whatley-Darty Realty and Alfred Saliba Realty. Scott was a member of the Dothan-Houston County Rotary Club and Covenant United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father Jack Downing, and his grandmother Ima Stephens. rnSurvivors include his wife Melissa Downing of Dothan; his children, Zack Downing of Dothan, Peyton Downing of Dothan, and Whitney Haralson of Dothan; his mother Imogene Gilliam and stepfather Joel Gilliam of Cordele, GA; his grandfather David Stephens of Cordele, GA; a brother Timothy Downing and his wife Janet of Wetumpka, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
