Slocomb

Sean D. Law, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2023 in Slocomb, Alabama. Born on February 14, 1969, in Houston County, Alabama, Sean was a beacon of love, warmth, and positivity to all who knew him.

Sean was educated at Houston Academy and Northview High School before he joined the United States Navy. His adventurous spirit and keen eye for detail made him a remarkable photographer in the Navy. After his naval career, Sean's selflessness shone through as he dedicated several years to serving his fellow veterans at the Department of Veteran Affairs in Dothan. His dedication to service was a testament to his character, forever putting others before himself.

Sean was a loving family man, survived by his wife, Nancy; his son, D. J. (Katie); his daughter, Justine Tew; and his granddaughter, Jade; his godchildren, Caleb Morris and Morgan (Kaleb) Knight, and their daughter, Maggie Beth. He was the cherished son of Diane Cox (Joe Fred) and Chuck Law, and the admired brother of Charles Law, Dixie Pease, Lynnia (Dale) Thomas, Patti (Steve) Bond, Jada (Ron) Scroggins, Kim (Doss) Henderson, and his sister-in-law, Debbie (Tuan) Tran, several nieces and nephews, including Amanda (Joe) Young and Dale (Nicole) Thomas also survive. Sean was preceded in death by his father-in-law, David Ellis, and his sister-in-law, Donna Perry.

Sean's interests were as varied as they were numerous. He was a great father who taught his son to play baseball and supported him throughout his baseball career. From high school tournaments to coaching at American Legion World Series, and especially Post 70 games, Sean was a proud and constant figure in D. J.'s life. He was an avid basketball player and participated in the Punt, Pass, and Kick event. Sean was also a doting grandfather to his three-year-old granddaughter, Jade, cherishing every moment spent with her.

A big-hearted Alabama native, Sean was a BIG Roll Tide Fan. His friendly nature and love for conversation led him to keep up with everyone, family and friends, talking for hours on the phone. He loved working out with D. J. in the gym and took great pleasure in the simple joys of life.

Sean was best described as adventurous, friendly, and selfless. His adventurous spirit led him to serve his country and explore the world. His friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure in his community, and his selflessness was evident in his dedication to his family and fellow veterans.

Quoting the renowned author, Mark Twain, "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." Sean lived his life to the fullest, touching countless lives with his warmth and generosity, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew him.
