Selena Jane Hartley

Selena Jane Hartley, 68, of Dothan, passed away on Friday June 9, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday June 15, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Glover officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UAB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Attn.: Dr. John Michael Straughn, Jr., 1700 6th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon Anton Klapal and Patricia Ruth Klapal and her sister Marlena Joy Bonner.

Jane was born October 1, 1948 in Ozark, Alabama and moved to Dothan at an early age. She was a 1967 graduate of Dothan High School and was the Homecoming Queen. She resided in Dothan most of her life. Jane was employed with Mack Electric, Hartley Plumbing, Woodall's Heating and Cooling, and with Klapal Contracting as office manager until her medical retirement in 2014.

She is survived by her sons, Charles A. Hartley (Blair) and Curtis L. Hillman, Jr. (Michelle); her 5 grandchildren, Ridge Skipper (Shy), Curtis L. Hillman, III, Jocee Hillman, Caroline Jaye, and Anderson Jaye; her great-grandchild; a brother, Freddy Klapal (Teresa); her sister, Xanthea Kennedy; several nieces and nephews; and her loving caregiver, Petrina Anthony.
