Sherri Mckeel

Sherri Lynn Tice McKeel, a resident of Dothan passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 46.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 3, 2009 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the funeral home. At all other times the family will be at the home of Richard Tice, 131 Zachary Rd., Dothan, AL, 36301.

Mrs. McKeel was born on February 14, 1963 in Houston County and lived all of her life in Dothan. She was a 1981 graduate of Cottonwood High School and a 1983 graduate of Wallace College with a degree in nursing. She was employed at Flowers Hospital for several years as a registered nurse in Medical Intensive Care and later with Southeast Alabama Medical Center in CVICU. She was also employed with Home Health and the Medical Call Center until her medical disability. Mrs. McKeel was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Jay McKeel of Dothan; 2 sons, Jamie Dowling and Chase McKeel both of Dothan; parents, Richard and Jeanette Tice of Dothan; a brother Ricky Tice and his wife Alicia of Dothan; a sister Donna Cruts and her husband Corey of Cottonwood; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeffrey and Shirley McKeel of Alexander City, AL; a sister-in-law Jennifer Waldrop and her husband Jason of Alexander City, AL; a brother-in-law Matt McKeel of San Antonio, TX; nieces and nephews, Britney Killingsworth and her husband TC of Dothan, Kevin Tice of Dothan, Jacob Thomas of Cottonwood, Sierra Waldrop, Tony Green, Charae Kimble, Kyle Kimble; a great niece Kara Killingsworth of Dothan; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
