Shirley Ann Chancey

Shirley Ann Chancey, 64, of Abbeville, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be 2 pm Saturday, December 23, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen Doss officiating. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 530 Highway 30, Eufaula, AL 36027.

Mrs. Chancey was born March 3, 1953 in Meriwether County Georgia. She is retired from Barbour County School System where she was employed as a child nutrition employee. Mrs. Chancey enjoyed shopping, gardening, spending time with her family, and traveling. She loved flowers and making beach trips to Panama City.

She is preceded in death by her parents Brudell and Evelyn Cato; and her brother, Bruce Cato.

She is survived by her husband, James Chancey; her daughters, Tammy (Adam) James, Kristy Phillips, Christi (LaDon) Chambers, and Mandy (Bo) Wilder; her 10 grandchildren, Nikki, Taylor, Kaylyn, Savannah, Austin, Dakota, Hayley, Noah, Kyle, and Cassidy; her great-granddaughter, “Ladybug” Emerson; her brother Wayne (Bert) Cato; her sister Becky (Burger) Evans; her brothers-in-law, Jerome (Marie) Chancey, Hulon (Judy) Chancey, Harold (Betty) Chancey, and Roger (Lisa) Chancey; her sisters-in-law, Kathryn Watson, Sylvia Peters, and Gwen (Gene) Cobb.
