Soungia Ellen (Hamlin) Mullins

Soungia H. Mullins of Dothan, AL passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2023 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Soungia was a graduate of Alabama A & M University. After graduating, she started her career with the Social Security Administration in Dothan, AL. After retiring with 20 years of service, she opened Disability Advisors and other businesses in the Wiregrass.

Soungia's hobbies included traveling, spending time with family and friends, going to the casino and helping others. She never met a stranger. Soungia was a member of Harvest Church in Dothan, AL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Silas Hamlin and Nellar Jackson-McCray; and two grandchildren, William Xavier Mullins and Emani Sanol Mullins.

Soungia is survived by her loving husband, Harvey Jerome Mullins; her three children, William Jevon and Samantha Mullins of Dothan, AL, Wesley Jamier Mullins of Reno, NV and Shantelle and Derris Henson of Dothan, AL; her four siblings, Raymond and Doris Hamlin of Dothan, AL, Jimmy Lamar McCray of Dothan, AL, and Delorisee and Denisee McCray of Dothan, AL; her seven grandchildren, William JaQuan Mullins of Seattle, WA, Najwan Sanaa Mullins of Houston, TX, Elizabeth Rallen Ealy of Dothan, AL, Arthur David Adams, Jr., Jevier Isaiah Jerome Mullins (Jiggy), Derris Jeremiah Henson and Derris Le'nard Henson, Jr.; and a host of great-grandchildren, friends and loved ones throughout the Wiregrass and the United States.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Harvest Church in Dothan at 2:00pm with Pastor Larry Anderson officiating. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Soungia will be laid to rest in the Crestlawn Cemetery following the service.
