Steven Ray Barrentine, a resident of Geneva, passed away on Sunday July 22, 2018, at his home. He was 21. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Newton, AL with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Steven was born on October 11, 1996 in Ozark, Alabama. He was a graduate of Geneva County High School and was employed as the maintenance supervisor at West Meadows Apartments. Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He loved spending time with friends and family. Steven was also a music fanatic. Steven is preceded in death by his grandparents, Buddy and Faye Barrentine; his uncle, Johnny Barrentine; and Willie Glover. Survivors include his mother, Diane Glover; his step-father, Roger (Tammy) Lanthrip; his girlfriend, Mileena Duckwald and her son, Rylan; his brothers: Jimmy Gibson, Christopher Barentine, Mark White, Ray White, Tim Lanthrip, David Lanthrip, Braden Turner and Nick Piearson; his sisters: Paige White, Carrie Linkous, and Misty Turner; his aunts and uncles, Larry Barrentine, Jennifer (Donnie) Bush, Mike (Marie) Gardner and Angela (Stacey) Williams; his great uncle, James (Mary) Barrentine; and several cousins. Burial Date July 30, 2018 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Newton, AL with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
