Sue Jones

Sue Jones, a resident of Midland City, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 at a local hospital.  She was 77.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Magnolia Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Dean officiating. Private graveside services will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Jones was born on December 24, 1937 in Dale County and lived there the early years of her life.  She moved to Columbus, Georgia and was employed at First National Bank for many years prior to moving back to Dothan in 1981. Mrs. Jones was a member of Magnolia Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, James Jones, her brother, Owen Jefferson "OJ" Dykes, and by her sister, Joann Mann.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Dale Collins; her brother, Phillip Shirley Dykes; her sisters, Phyllis Dave McConnell and Betty Senn; and her very special friend, James "Chic" Turner.
