Sybil Taylor

June 28, 1922 — February 8, 2013

Sybil Lane Taylor, 90, of Dothan passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 10 am Monday, February 11, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Pearson officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Greystone United Methodist Church, 4401 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL, 36305.

Mrs. Taylor was born June 28, 1922 in Houston County and lived here all of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to cook for her family. She was a member of Greystone United Methodist Church, formerly Lafayette Street United Methodist Church, where she was a longtime member of the Esther Sunday School Class. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years James C. Taylor in 2006 and her sister Magdalyn Redding.

Survivors include her sons, James Sandra Taylor of Birmingham, Farrest Elaine Taylor of Dothan; a daughter Jane Jerry Kelly of Taylor; a daughter-in-law Sharon Taylor;  grandchildren, Jay and Amy Taylor, Sara and Sam Dillashaw, Josh and Elizabeth Taylor, Jason and Meredith Kelly, James and Brandi Kelly, Rachel Taylor, Hannah Taylor, Steven Johnson, and Madeline Johnson; a sister Eleanor McEntyre of Meridian, MS; several nieces and nephews.
