Tammy Grover Lyman

Tammy Grover Lyman, a resident of Panama City Beach, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her home. She was 55 years old.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3 pm on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Thorpe, pastor of Watermark Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Friday at the funeral home.

Tammy was born on April 9, 1966 in Dothan, AL to the late Danny and Mary Grover. She grew up in Ashford and graduated from Ashford High School, Class of 1984. Tammy was a majorette for Troy University where she earned her bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism. She would meet and marry the love of her life, Scott Lyman, and together through his military career, they would travel and live in Alabama, Hawaii, Virginia, and finally in Panama City Beach, Florida. Through all these years she worked as a fitness instructor, enjoying a healthy and active lifestyle, she ran many marathons and triathlons. Tammy enjoyed attending the Lighthouse Church in Panama City Beach. She loved the beach and watching the beautiful sunsets. Other than being a proud mother, she enjoyed scrapbooking, and made many wonderful books loaded with many memories to cherish.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Danny and Mary Grover.

Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Scott Lyman; her sons, Dane Mowitz and Grant Lyman; her daughter, Danielle Mowitz; her step-daughter, Mandy (Mike) Miller; her two grandchildren, Samantha and Gavin Miller; her sister, Terri (Brent) Marshall; her brothers, Robbie Byrd and Dan (Jerris) Grover; her stepmother, Marie Grover; her sister-in-law, Lauren (Dale) Bowser; a special aunt, Brenda (Dewitt) Scott; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3 pm on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Thorpe, pastor of Watermark Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
